I liked The Jin for relatively affordable, tasty Korean food. The interior has about a dozen tables and while it's mostly catered to couples and small parties, there's room to fit a larger party. The staff is friendly and helpful too. Restroom is small but clean. Obviously, the fried chicken is their most popular menu item, but I found it slightly overpriced and overseasoned. It's not bad or anything, just not my favorite. Loved the savory kimchi pancake, which is gooey and slightly spicy. The cheese corn was just so-so. I'd probably go back again; it'd be a great place to have some drinks and late-night snacks with friends.
4.5 stars! Came here with a group of 5 people and was able to make a reservation and change the time last minute. Service was very quick, our food arrived within 10-15 mins after ordering. I personally got the chicken katsu with rice and was surprised at how flavorful it was! All the other meals were enjoyed by my friends and for the price they were great. The restaurant itself was hot so in the summer don't come bundled up. Would go again and recommend
We found this place on yelp. A few highlights: 1. Ambiance: it's a cute place with wooden paneling and booths 2. Service: quick and helpful folks 3. Cheese tteboki and the bulgogi tacos are good. Their portions are super generous so 1 main dish and 2 starters were more than enough for a family of 4. The only downside was that everything had a touch of sweetness which grated on my palate at least. Their grill was down due to an electrical problem else we would have ordered something else. Nice place to grab a quick no frills Korean meal if you are in the neighborhood
Food (4/5) - Got a ramen, kimchi fried rice, and soy garlic wings. Wings were great, chicken was moist enough and breading was crispy, well-seasoned. Ramen can be on the spicier side, is very pungent, rich and flavourful. Egg was just the right level of jammy. Service (4/5) - Was pretty prompt until we needed the check, staff checked in once in a while and were unintrusive otherwise. Ambiance (4/5) - Bit of a hole in the wall, though we also went at a slightly odd lunch hour ~2pm, place was completely empty. Seating near the street can get loud but that's to be expected. On a good day the storefront walls are retracted and it's nice and bright. Price (5/5) - Pretty good value, all portions were pretty big and we had leftovers.
Ambiance - perfection / Simple, chill vibe and decor. Wood and neutral coloration. We felt warmly welcomed. We sat at a table that was inside but in the street at the same time. Perfect on a breezy summer day. Food - perfection This chicken was so good my spirit was moved in a real way. Like Jesus was present in the chicken. It hyperbole y'all. It was holy and heavenly. Service - great our server made great suggestions and didn't over sell us on anything. He suggested that we wait to order fried rice to see if the chicken would be enough, first. Nice! I love this experience. It was as close to perfect as one can get. (I even got to Shazzam some dope Korean hip hop/ r n b while I was there!) Another review giving it to you straight no chaser! Enjoy!
LOVED the food and i had korean food a few times, the kimchi quesadillas were so good and such a unique combo and my friend loved the chicken wings.
Got takeout from The Jin and my Korean fried chicken and katsu order stayed crispy! I got the soy garlic and the spicy chicken and also katsu with tteobokki. It was kind of random to have katsu accompanying the tteokbokki. The chicken was super yummy and crunchy. Really hit the spot for late night wing cravings. Service was fast and the order was ready quickly. I did not stay in the establishment to eat but it's cozy.
This was a nice find for lunch as I was looking for Korean food near the CBS broadcasting center. Greeted by a friendly server in this clean, modern and very welcoming atmosphere. Lots of interesting items - a bit of a hybrid of Korean and American... as they offered bulgogi sandwich, etc. However, really wanted to try their wings and the grilled pork belly! Was very happy with the meal, especially the wings. The garlic soy sauce was ok, however, I found the chicken itself was so good. Nice crispy skin but not too oily!
Warm atmosphere and friendly waters. Came here on a weeknight and got seated quickly. Korean fusion place with some American-inspired dishes. Came here with some friends, and we all got the beef bulgogi with white rice and a side salad. For the price, the bulgogi was pretty standard. It's comparable to the prices and restaurants in the area and in Hell's Kitchen / near Columbus Circle. The vibe is dim-lit with cozy seating.
